Alarm goes off, rise and shine!  Each morning I would roll out of bed to pursue the same morning ritual. Get up, make coffee, feed the dog, shower, eat a quick breakfast and head out the door to work.  I was up fourteen pounds since Jason and I were married last year.  I had FINALLY met my soul mate, best friend, and my prince charming. Life was FABULOUS!  So why I was feeling so fatigued, no energy, and my clothes were fitting tighter?

I was so frustrated! In my mind, I had been eating “healthy” and staying active. But long stressful hours at work, skipping meals, and the daily FULL pot of coffee were starting to catch up with me! YES, you heard that right,  A FULL POT OF COFFEE!  I knew I wasn’t consuming enough water to stay hydrated and I realize now it contributed to my constant fatigue. My weight was creeping up with my busy lifestyle and desk job. I made excuses about being too busy and had no energy to work out after work. I was in denial. I avoided scales, cameras and mirrors. I knew I needed to make a change, not only for me, but for my family—three beautiful children and three beautiful step kids!

Being around for my family isn’t something I take for granted. My dad passed away with pancreatic cancer in March, 1999 at age 63.  I lost my mom in Sept, 2008 from non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver.  Both my parents had adult onset of diabetes and from all my training and education as a Registered Nurse, I knew I was heading down the same path by making poor food choices and not exercising.  

 I WANT TO BE AROUND FOR A LOT OF YEARS! I want to see my kids and step kids grow up and start their own families. I want to be outside running around with my grandkids and involved in adventures with my family, not sedentary on the couch! I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY LIFESTYLE.
