Growing up, Andie Mitchel had always been heavier set. Teased endlessly about her weight in grade school, she wore a women’s size 12 dress to her first communion. During her sophomore year of college, she weighed in at a frightening 268 pounds. That day she committed to losing weight.
Over the following 13 months, Andie lost 135 pounds. But when she finally dropped down to her healthy weight, she wondered how to maintain it. That's when she began to work on her emotional relationship with food. Andie uses the Can You Stay For Dinner blog to share the lessons she’s learned about coping with weight and eating anxiety and recipes that help her maintain a sense of balance.

Kelly’s struggle with weight began as a teenager. She joined and abandoned Weight Watchers on multiple occasions, experienced extreme ups and downs and went through several full body transformations. In 1999, at her college graduation ceremony, Kelly weighed 144 pounds; however, by October 2010 her weight had increased to 256 pounds.
After that last fateful step onto the scale in 2010, Kelly began her life-changing adventure to lose weight. She called her blog No Thanks To Cake (NTTC) because at the outset she couldn’t shake the feeling that around every corner lay a tempting slice of cake with her name on it. Within 6 months, she had lost 40 pounds but then plateaued. Dannii started yoga and swimming and the scale began to tick downward again. Finally, in February of 2011, Dannii reached her goal of losing one hundred pounds, just in time for her wedding!

Emily lives with a common autoimmune disease called Hashimoto’s which in turn causes Hypothyroidism (meaning the thyroid is under active). This condition commonly slows a person’s metabolism, making weight loss even more difficult.

When Katie began blogging in 2009 she weighed in at an unhealthy 253 lbs. She had struggled with extra lbs her entire life. When she began her weight loss journey, she wasn’t able to run alongside her son when teaching him how to ride a bike. Now, she is a marathon runner! She began by simply cutting the “bad” and eating more “good” or pure foods with no additives or preservatives.
Over 16 months, she lost 125 lbs. After losing that much weight, Katie started to get rashes under the extra skin and was very unhappy and decided to have plastic surgery to remove it.

Oh, the struggle! Audrey Johns weighted in at 275 lbs in 2011 and had tried every diet from Atkins to Weight Watchers. Still, the thought of continuing to gain even more weight was chilling. Audrey began to cook for herself and loved making her own healthy, delicious food. Today, she focuses on not eating processed foods and opts instead for grains and greens--avoiding anything from the freezer or a box.
When it comes to exercise, Audrey doesn’t have a strict gym regime like many of us do. She believes that we all should move as much as we possibly can. Audrey likes to always be on the move through little things like lifting light weights while watching T.V.

This superstar decided to say not to midlife weight gain and dropped over 100 lbs. Lori's initial motivation came from Kathleen DesMaison's book The Sugar Addict’s Recovery Program. Reading it, she realized it wasn’t how much she was eating, but what she was eating that caused her weight gain. She ditched all things "white," opting instead for all things "whole" and the changed turned things around.
Lori has lost the cravings for processed foods but does enjoy a Reese' peanut butter cup once in awhile. Balance is key to lasting success!
