Exercising at Work

A few weeks ago, Ashleigh Sutton Atuahene shared valuable tips for how to Fit In Daily Exercise, even during extra busy times. Ashleigh is the Owner and Master Trainer of Fitness with Ashleigh and the personal trainer for our Real Women Real Results participants in Houston, Texas.

A few of the bmiSMART staff members were inspired by this idea and began doing Ashley’s suggested five-minute routine in the office to break up the work day. The routine consists of 20 jumping jacks, 30 squats, 15 lunges, 25 crunches, and a 30-second plank.

We have kept each other accountable and begun noticing benefits. For example, I’ve found these exercises help relieve stress and the negative impact stress can have on my body. I have fewer tension headaches and less pain in my neck and shoulders.

Client Services and Event Coordinator Sierra Thurston had this to say, “I feel better and more focused for the second-half of the day when I stop to do a short exercise. It’s almost like a reboot after lunch.”

Visit our Facebook page and let us know if you’ve added exercise into your work day, and if you’ve discovered benefits. What are some of your favorite office workouts?
